Greetings All!
My name is Mrs. Mandy Pope and I am one of the two fifth grade teachers at Holy Cross. This is my first year at Holy Cross and I am overjoyed! The children and staff whom I have met thus far seem lovely; I know this will be a fantastic year!
I currently have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Theatre, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from Eastern Illinois University. Since graduating from the U of I in 2002, I have taught young children, mentored college students, worked for a company (only while getting my graduate degree), and counseled individuals, families, and children in a community outpatient setting. I believe that my varied experiences with children and families has groomed me for my experience here at Holy Cross.
Besides teaching, my loves include my husband, Matt, my son, Kyan, 3, and my daughter, Eilla, 1. We live in Champaign with our two dogs (Annabelle and Ivan) and two cats (Artimus and Ayla). I really enjoy spending time with my family, traveling (especially to Disney World), gardening, and cooking.
